Immunity Boosting Citrus Smoothie

Gluten-Free, Vegan, Serves 2

  • 1 large orange, peeled
  • 1 small grapefruit, peeled
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 small banana, frozen
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • Ice cubes


In a blender, combine the orange segments, grapefruit segments, lemon juice, lime juice, and coconut water. Add the frozen banana, frozen mango chunks, chia seeds, turmeric powder, and grated ginger to the blender. If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, add pure maple syrup or agave to the blender. Start with 1 tablespoon and adjust to taste. Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. If needed, you can add more water or coconut water to reach your desired consistency. Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness or acidity by adding more maple syrup, lemon juice, or lime juice if desired.

Add a handful of ice cubes to the blender and blend briefly to chill and thicken the smoothie. Once the smoothie is well blended and creamy, pour it into two glasses. Garnish with a slice of citrus fruit or a sprinkle of chia seeds for extra visual appeal.
