Blood Orange Adrenal Cocktail

Gluten-Free, Vegan, Serves 2

  • 2 blood oranges, freshly squeezed
  • 1 lemon, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ashwagandha powder
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Directions:

Combine the freshly squeezed blood orange juice and lemon juice in a pitcher or mixing bowl. Add the freshly grated ginger to the juice mixture. Ginger adds a zesty kick and additional health benefits. If using, add the ashwagandha powder to the juice mixture. Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb that may help support adrenal health. Sweeten the cocktail with raw honey or maple syrup to your desired level of sweetness.

Start with 1 tablespoon and adjust to taste. Stir the mixture well to combine the flavors and dissolve the sweetener. Fill two glasses with ice cubes.
